Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) on the Jordanian-American Military Fitness Challenge

How long is the competition open?

The competition is NOW open until 12 noon on August 30th, 2017.  Any entries received after that period will not be considered valid.

Can I enter more than one time?   Can I submit more than one video?

 

Yes!  You can submit as many videos as you are able to in the one month period.  Only videos with proper form will be considered valid entries.   The individual who submits the most entries will receive a Samsung tablet.

 

I’m under 18 years old.  Can I participate?

 

Sorry – you are not eligible to win a prize.

 

Can I start and stop the video?  Can I edit it?

 

No.  Only non-stop, unedited video will be considered a valid entry. The 12 fastest entries will be subjected to a panel review for proper form and any tampering with the video (e.g. editing, starting / stopping, etc.) at the completion of the competition.

Where should I post my name, link to the video, and time?

 

You can post your video on post on the U.S. Embassy’s FB page related to the fitness challenge.

 

How do I know that you’ve seen my entry and that it is valid?

 

We will reply to your comment with the words “received, initial review indicates proper form.”

 

Do I have to register for the competition?

 

No – all you have to do is submit a video on your own timing, with your name, time, and a link to the Youtube video.

Is it free?

Yes – it is absolutely free.

 

Who is eligible to participate?

 

Any Jordanian citizen aged 18 years old or more is eligible to participate.

 

I’m a Jordanian who resides outside Jordan.  Can I participate?

 

Any Jordanian citizen aged 18 years old who is available to pick up his/her prize in person in September can participate.

 

I have  Australian / Iraqi / Syrian / German / American (insert any other nationality) citizenship and I’m residing in Jordan.  Can I participate?

 

You are not eligible for the prizes.

 

Is this a competition between the U.S. and Jordan?

 

No  – it is a partnership between our militaries, challenging the population to follow their model of physical fitness.

What are the prizes?

A laptop for the fastest man

  • A laptop for the fastest woman.
  • A tablet for the person who does the workout the most times in the month.  Speed is not important, just the number of times you do the workout.
  • For everyone who performs the workout, we’ll also put your name in a drawing for a surprise prize.

 

Can I change the order of the exercises?

No.  You must complete the exercises in the given order.

  • 50 air squats
  • 50 push-ups
  • 50 sit ups
  • 25 Burpees

 

I think that a fellow competitor edited his video or did it with improper form and I am actually faster.  Can you double check his entry?
