Health Alert – Global Heath Advisory- Level 4

Location:  Jordan

Event:  On March 19, 2020, the U.S. Department of State issued a Global Health Advisory – Level 4 advising U.S. citizens, including those who live abroad, to avoid all international travel due to the global impact of COVID-19.  The Global Health Advisory – Level 4 supersedes the independent Travel Advisories for specific countries around the world.  Other specific conditions remain detailed in each country’s Travel Advisory.

We are aware the government of Jordan has suspended commercial air travel. We are considering all options to aid U.S. citizens in need of emergency assistance.

U.S. citizens in Jordan seeking emergency assistance should email the U.S. Embassy at amman-acs@state.gov.  Enroll in Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) to receive security updates and check the U.S. Embassy’s COVID-19 website for updates.

Travelers should be prepared for travel restrictions to be put into effect with little or no advance notice.

For further information about travel restrictions and closures in Jordan, please visit the U.S. Embassy’s COVID-19 webpage at the following link: https://jo.usembassy.gov/covid-19-information/.

For updates about COVID-19 travel restrictions elsewhere in the world (including the United States), please consult https://travel.state.gov/content/travel.html which includes information for U.S. citizens returning to the U.S. from Europe, cruise ship passengers, and U.S. citizen students abroad.
