Jordanian U.S. Department of State Alumni Association – Steering Committee Nomination Form

The U.S. Embassy in Amman is launching the official exchange program alumni association and we need your help! We are seeking alumni from U.S. Department of State to serve on the first-ever U.S. Department of State Jordanian Alumni Association Steering committee.  Your job will be to help steward the alumni association and prepare for the first-ever Jordan-wide elections in January, 2017.

Come represent alumni from your program, engage alumni in current programs, help plan future programs and initiatives, and leverage the alumni association community to ensure sustainability and further strategic objectives.  In Jordan alone, there are over 7,300 Alumni of USG-Funded Exchange Programs, ranging from High School students to current and Former ministers and Prime Ministers. Serving on the Steering Committee represents an exciting opportunity to work closely with the Public Affairs Office of the U.S. Embassy in Amman and contribute to the planning and the launch of the  first-ever U.S. Department of State Alumni Association in Jordan as well as to network with a diverse and a powerful network of the best and the brightest individuals Jordan has to offer.

In order to be considered eligible, you must be:

  • An alumnus or alumna of a U.S. Department of State sponsored program, (see full list here);
  • Should have a strong belief and commitment to the mission of the Alumni Association and be eager and willing to accept a leadership and participatory role to further the mission of the Alumni Association and its strategic initiatives;
  • Should have time to commit to quarterly meetings, biannual Leadership Council meetings, and the annual Alumni Association membership meeting, as well as committee and other meetings. You will also be expected to have a presence at campus and alumni events (Selected alumni will be expected to meet with representatives from the Public Affairs Office on May 23, 2016 to plan the calendar of events for the period from June 2016 – January 2017).

Submit an Application—To nominate yourself and to apply for the Steering Committee, please complete this form no later than May 21, 2016.  If you know of any USG-Funded Exchange Program Alumnus/Alumna whom you believe possess the leadership skills, creativity and the dedication that could benefit the Alumni Association–You are encouraged to submit a nomination using the same form no later than May 21, 2016.

Once launched—The U.S. Department of State Jordanian Exchange Programs Alumni Association shall serve as the official alumni association for ALL U.S. Government sponsored exchanges including, but not limited to, the following programs:

Sports Visitor Program, Study of the U.S. Institute for Scholars, International Writing Program Fall Residency, Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA), TechGirls, TechWomen, Teaching Excellence and Achievement (TEA), Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence Program, Fortune/U.S. State Department Global Women’s Mentoring Partnership, Study of the U.S. Institute for Student Leaders, Fulbright Foreign Student Program, Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange & Study (KL-YES), Global Undergraduate Exchange Program (Global NESA UGRAD), Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program, American Council of Young Political Leaders (ACYPL), Community Solutions, Coca-Cola Global Business Institute, and Goldman Sachs and Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI).
