Reminder to U.S. Citizens: Resident in Jordan? Don’t Forget to Check Your Immigration Status (April 11, 2022)

If you are a U.S. citizen resident in Jordan, you should routinely check you are in compliance with all relevant employment- and immigration-related Jordanian government regulations. If your authorization to reside in Jordan lapses, you may be detained or deported from Jordan, and you may not be permitted to return to Jordan following deportation or voluntary departure from the country.
Residency status may be verified at the Ministry of the Interior and employment authorization status may be verified at the Ministry of Labor. Actions to Take:
