Amman – The U.S. Embassy in Jordan is proud to host photographer Joshua Yospyn in Jordan from May 2 – May 12. While here, Joshua will conduct photography workshops in Aqaba, Salt, and Amman. His program will conclude with a public photography exhibition on May 12, at 7 p.m. at Fun Wa Shai Café, Jabal El-Weibdeh in Amman. The theme of the exhibition will be “What Drives the Economy in Jordan.”
Yospyn will conduct workshops with young entrepreneurs, NGO photographers who work on social media campaigns, as well as aspiring street and documentary photographers. In addition to photography, Yospyn will work with photographers on upgrading their professional skills. On May 12, Yospyn will choose pictures taken during the workshops for public display. The Embassy is currently displaying Josh Yospyn’s photographs on its Instagram feed.
Joshua Yospyn is a professional freelance photographer based in Washington, D.C. His work is focused on portraiture, editorial work, and traditional photography. His latest work — called “American Sequitur” — was featured in the New York Times Lens Blog. He is the recipient of numerous awards, including first place for his submissions to FotoWeek, D.C. in 2010 and Px3 Prix de La Photographie, Paris in 2007.
